After finishing his studies in computer science and economics in Aachen and Cologne, Martin worked on various topics including strategy, organizational effectiveness, shared services, process reengineering, and IT. He managed multiple projects in M&A in the software industry ranging from target identification to due diligences and asset value assessment. Beside the software industry, Martin operated in the automotive, industrial goods, and IT services industry, managing big data, digital, and automation. Martin joined BCG in 1994. In 1998, he transferred to BCG’s New York office and temporarily left from 2000 to 2004 and spent time in Latin America building one of the largest regional IT consulting firms.
From 2007 to 2009, Martin was in charge of all global functions for BCG worldwide after assuming multiple management roles within the firm’s global Technology Advantage practice. He transferred to the San Francisco office in 2010, returning to the Cologne office in 2013, being responsible for BCG’s regional Technology Advantage practice till 2018. In October 2018, Martin joined BCG Platinion’s executive team as a Managing Director (CEO), enriching the company with his extensive knowledge of the IT industry and the successful completion of complex projects.
