BCG Platinion broadens North American business with expanded presence in Canada
TORONTO, June 21, 2016—BCG Platinion, a subsidiary of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) that provides technology architecture, implementation, digital, and risk services, has broadened its presence in North America by expanding in Canada and hiring a dedicated executive to run the Canada operation, Philip Panaro, the CEO of BCG Platinion in North America, announced today.
“Thanks to the rapid growth and success of BCG Platinion, we are formally expanding our geographic footprint in North America,” said Panaro, who is based in New York and has more than 25 years of experience facilitating large-scale business transformations in the financial services industry. “Canada is a critical market for future growth in the execution services we provide for technology, digital, and risk, and we are excited to grow our presence there.”
To lead the Canada business, the company has hired Fabrice Lebegue, a veteran professional services executive, as a managing director. Based locally in Canada, he will serve on the executive team of BCG Platinion North America and will lead its Digital Transformation practice.
“We are thrilled to have Fabrice joining us in this important leadership role. Having a permanent Canadian presence will enable us to better serve our existing clients and become better known to prospects throughout Canada,” said Panaro.
“BCG Platinion is an integral part of BCG’s value proposition, expanding the firm’s fast-growing Technology Advantage practice with deep technical and execution know-how,” said Cliff Grevler, a Toronto-based senior partner who leads BCG Canada across its Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary offices. “We look forward to working together to bring BCG Platinion’s capabilities to our Canadian clients.”
Lebegue comes to BCG Platinion with 20 years of experience in the technology field. Most recently, he was a corporate vice president for technology at Cogeco. Before that, he worked more than eight years at BCG as a consultant, rising to become a Director in the firm’s global Technology practice and Chief Technology Officer at BCG Platinion North America. In both roles, he led many strategy and technology implementation projects serving large corporations worldwide, especially in the financial services, high-tech, and telecom industries.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a strategy and technology consultant at various firms. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (in mathematics, software, and systems) from the French engineering school ENSEEIHT in Toulouse and a master’s degree in digital communications from the École Polytechnique at the University of Montreal.
“I’m delighted to be returning to BCG Platinion to help extend our North American reach and build the business, which is growing rapidly,” said Lebegue. “We see a lot of potential to extend BCG’s capabilities across the Canadian market.”
Platinion was founded by BCG in 2000 in Germany to add technical depth to the firm’s IT consulting capabilities. A North American subsidiary based in New York was established in 2014. Its services include:
- Project management and technology implementation management
- Technology, solutions architecture, and IT modernization
- Agile transformation enablement
- Digital transformation enablement
- M&A and postmerger integration
- Blockchain advisory support
- Risk management and compliance services in financial institutions
BCG Platinion North America is one of the fastest-growing groups within the firm and has more than doubled its revenues in the past year.
