Insights into our Female Talent Mentoring Program - Meet two inspiring alumnae
The Female Talent Mentoring Program supports talented students in their professional and personal growth, focusing on digital transformation and IT strategy consulting. Over four months and several virtual and on-site events, participants gain valuable consulting insights, mentorship, and career guidance while building their professional networks. We have successfully run the program three times and are proud of the dynamic mentoring community it has fostered. Following, two former mentees share their inspiring experiences.
Nastassia, a 2023 mentee, shares her journey from the program to joining BCG Platinion as a Visiting Associate:
How would you describe your experience in the program?
The program provided me with valuable workshops, mentorship, and a deep dive into the corporate culture. The highlight was realizing: I want to be part of this team!
What surprised you most after you started working with us after the program?
Taking on responsibility so quickly! From day one, I worked independently on client projects and facilitated meetings.
Which skills from the program have you been able to apply in your daily work?
The "Bring solutions, not problems" mindset has been crucial, encouraging me to focus on proactive solutions rather than just raising questions.
What advice from a colleague has stuck in your mind?
Proactivity! Whether it's getting feedback, taking on new challenges or exchanging ideas - proactivity opens many doors.
Another highlight from our Female Talent Mentoring Program is a partnership with ITgirls. We first met Lena, founder of ITgirls, while she attended our program as a Mentee in 2021. Following her participation in the program, the partnership began!
What are the ITgirls, and what is your vision?
Founded in 2021 as a blog, ITgirls has grown into a team of 12 women active on social media and events, aiming to give every female student a positive IT experience.
How did the partnership with BCG Platinion begin, and what does the collaboration involve?
The cooperation began through the Female Talent Mentoring Program, where we discovered shared goals. We now work together to strengthen the female tech community! For example, I represent our partnership at BCG Platinion initiatives and events, focusing on female tech talents.
What is one thing you have taken away from our Female Talent Mentoring Program 2021?
I’ve grown to value women’s networks deeply, building a close friendship with especially one of the mentees. The program also confirmed that BCG Platinion is the ideal partner for us, since they drive diversity in IT strategy consulting and share a lot of our values!
We could not be happier to see our Female Talent Mentoring cohort thrive even further! One thing we have learned within the past years is how important and fostering this network has been, for BCG Platinion and participants! We have noticed: The demand on the program is high! That's why we're going into the next round.
